Transition – New tile collection
by Lanzavecchia + Wai for Mirage®

22 – 26 January 2016 – Maison Objet Paris

Hall 5B – Stand R15 – S16 / Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord - Villepinte, France

Our first tile collection for Mirage® will be showing at international trade fair dedicated to lifestyle fashions and trends that is reserved for professionals.

We are proud and thrilled to have this re-thought product system being exposed and presented at this amazing platform.

Transition goes beyond the canons of imitation, defining a new, timeless and contemporary nature of porcelain stoneware whose roots lie in Italian culture and tradition; the potential of the tiling system is unlocked when used as zonal demarcations in public areas as well as way-finding purposes.

The gradient pattern provides the interior architect components with which to lead the eye from one space, and one surface, to the next. This tile system is for contract, hospitality to residential contexts, both aesthetically and functionally.

Singapore Design: The Alchemists

16 - 31 January 2016 – Singapore Art Museum

71 Bras Besah Road, Singapore

Our Fools’ Gold cabinets are finally coming to Singapore! After a successful showing at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan last year during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, and appearing in numerous prominent media outlets,  they are going to be showcased at the prestigious Singapore Art Museum this Saturday onwards.

“The Alchemists” project is a nod to the Italian avant-garde group of the 1970s Studio Alchimia, whose members produced design pieces inspired by the ancient art of Alchemy, transforming the ordinary to the precious.

A new generation of designers from Singapore embarked on a creative investigation through this magic perspective of matter transmutation. The starting point for The Alchemists project was the question: “How could we transform matter by our will of improving shapes and the meaning of things?”

“The Alchemists” showcase at the Singapore Art Museum is the result of a lecture and workshop series, led by curators Stefano Casciani (IT) and Patrick Chia (SG). The prototypes on show are both a homage to the culture of the avant-garde and a proposal for innovation in contemporary times.
